To secure the maintenance of law and order in the District.
To ensure implementation of general policies of Government in the District.
To direct and supervise disaster and relief operations in the District.
As a chairperson of the DCC, to determine the specific direction of effort in implementing the general policies of the government in the District.
To provide and secure the enabling environment for successful performance by local authorities of their duties and functions.
To ensure compliance by all persons and authorities with appropriate government decisions, guidelines and regulations in relation to the promotion of local government system.
To perform all such acts and things as shall facilitate or secure the effective, efficient and lawful execution by the local authorities of their statutory or incidental functions.
